Small experiment on DO tablets.

Hello everyone:
      Today I will tell small experiment on DO tablets. Just you could learn about the efficiency of DO tablets.

        I humbly request to the shrimp farmers who reading this blog. Pls use real time meters for DO and pH . Yes, meters will give good and accurate results. Sometimes kits showing wrong results which affects the health of shrimp culture. If possible means buy meters for DO and pH . Also better to make small titration setup for Alkalinity and Hardness. You can make small place for this setup in your big farm.
          Yes, most of the persons doing take the sample and send to lab. It will take some minutes and may cause the chance for changing original water quality. Make sure to see the water quality at the spot of farm. It gives good results 👍.
 
Are you using DO tablets at night time?
Are you thing about how much oxygen level will increase after tablets application?
Most of the persons use DO tablets at night time. It is a temporary one. It will not produce or maintain the DO for long time. It is mostly made up of peroxides of Hydrogen or calcium.

Just try this at your farm.....

Take two buckets with 5 litres capacity.
In one bucket ,fill the bore water or RO water.
In other bucket, fill the pond water(currently culturing pond).
Check the initial DO of the two water samples present in the bucket.
Take Two DO tablets, and make weigh the tablets.
Put one tablet in one bucket and put same weighed tablet on other bucket.
Note the time, when you put tablets into the water.
You can see the production of bubbles in that water. It means the release of oxygen molecules form tablet.
After 5 mins, take the DO of two buckets. 
And also watch the tablets, how much time it requires to dissolve in water.
After 5 minutes again check the DO of your water.
And check after 10 minutes.....like this you do until the DO tablets completely dissolve.

Finally, you can get the results...
How much time taken for dissolving the tablet in water.
You can get the difference levels of DO between bore water and pond water. You can conclude the status by this difference.
You can conclude the oxygen releasing efficiency of your tablets.
You can conclude from the final DO in water. This gram of tablet produce this much of oxygen in this litres of water.
Note that, from this experiment you can't tell how much time the DO will remains in water.
In this experiment, we use only water not shrimps present.
This experiment for your better clarification on the use and efficiency of DO tablets.
If you have bought two products then you can check the two products like this. It will give good results.

How copepods develops in shrimp pond after applying fermented juice?

Hello everyone:      Are you know which is shrimp favourite food in zooplanktons? Yes, it is copepods. Shrimp eats more copepods which is present in the pond.       In last blog, I told about the reactions and preparation of fermented juice using organic substrates.
