Black gill disease in vannamei.....

Hello everyone:
Today we will see about the black gill disease in vannamei......

How we will confirm?
If you found your shrimp have any black colour appearance on the gill, then take the shrimp and put in a freshwater for several minutes. If the black colour gone means, it is due to turbidity or due to soil. If it is not gone, then check the gill and confirm the presence of black gills in your shrimps....

Thing should you know....
The most important species present in the affected gill is Fusarium species.. The genus have many species. This is mainly present in the soil where the present of rich organic matters. It is soil borne fungus. It also spreads by air, and water. Researchers found it in both freshwater and saline water. It grows on substrates by forming the mycelial like structure and affect the organism. Likewise, it is attached on the gill and causes necrosis and malfunction of gill lamellae and causes trouble in respiration...
Then the shrimp leads to death. It also occurs by opportunistic and also leads to secondary infections may be caused by any bacteria or virus..

Reason for the infection...
There are many reasons for the occurance of black gill disease in vannamei... Thing to do for prevention of black gill disease.

1. Proper drying of soil is important for every crop, to oxidize the excess organic sediments present in the pond.
2. Source of water must be disinfected before stocking...
3. Avoid the excess sludge accumulation in your pond..
4. Always maintain beneficial microbes in perfect manner to make an competitive with other pathogens.
5. If your shrimp previously affected, then the water and soil must be disinfected..

Important:
We can't deactivate the fungi with the presence of soil. Because its nature of origin is soil..
Shrimp have such an habit of disturbing pond bottom. At that time, there is a chance for the fouling of organism on shrimp gill. So, proper maintanence of pond bottom is very important.

* Make the pond with free from turbidity.
* optimize the stocking density to avoid prevalence of any disease.
* Proper feed management will leads to proper water quality.
* Do Regular sampling to observe the presence of any abnormality in shrimp.

Researchers also find, this fungus occurs more than 80 days in shrimp.. So maintanence and disinfecction is very important.  For more info... Contact me....

        Thank you.. .
