Best stocking densities for polyculture of carps.

Hello everyone:
Today we will see about the optimum stocking ratios of IMC and CMC in polyculture.

1. Species selection:
Select the species which have high local market price in your area. If I select catla, rohu, grass carp, common carp then we have to fix the ratio of stocking.

2. Are you able to do supplement feeding?
We have to fix the stocking densities based on this question also.

If your pond have more organic matter or you are using more organic manure in your pond? Then you can stock Common carp and mrigal Or tilapia in 30-40%.
If you are stocking grass carp and rohu in high numbers, the wastes of herbivores can be easily digested by common carp.
Silver carp is very useful to control algal blooms and reduce the oxygen depletion during night times.
Catla with 10-15% , rohu with 30-40%, mrigal 10-20%, grass carp 10-20% and rest of common carp is preferable. Most of the places silver carp not have sufficient market value and consumers.
Based on the pond conditions and species we can change the ratios.
                         Thank you.
