Useless to Useful - Pond organic matter...

Hello everyone:
Today we will see about some of the important thing about organic matter in your shrimp pond.
Question: Sir, my pond shows production of more foam in morning times. What can I do for this?
Answer : It is usual for earthern ponds when your DOC is crossed more than 50-60.Use activated probiotics. Don't use excess carbon source.

The foam formation is the common thing when the organic matters present in your pond. We can't control completely because our daily feed will be more than 40 kgs per acre for low stocking. So definitely foam will come.

One solution......
We can turn these particulate into effective nutrient called floc. When the organic matter present in your pond, At the same time bacterial colonization will occur ( both beneficial and harmful bacteria).. In this time we have to increase the beneficial bacteria when you found excess organic matter in your pond...

Important criteria.
Beneficial bacteria activation and proliferation is very important, Before admit into the pond.
The selection of carbon sources also very important.
Molases considered as a primary carbon source than rice bran and jaggery.

There are many steps to make floc in your pond. But you have to observe the condition of your pond. These floc has good nutritional profile and provides more proteins to the shrimp.
