Some of basics soil reactions in aquaculture pond.
Hello everyone:
I am glad to express my thank to all people who reads my blog across the world. For the last few weeks I saw some of the people from Ecuador,Tanzania reads most. These are the countries have very good infrastructure for aquaculture (growing).
Any people can contact me regarding guidance on fish, shrimp farming, any online sessions. I am always ready to serve my knowledge to farmers. You can contact by mail or WhatsApp. Thank you.
Today we will see about some of soil reactions on shrimp farming.
Ageing of pond should have an impact on survival and growth of shrimp.
Things need to consider:
1.Preparation of ageing ponds.
2.Treatments.
3.Stocking density.
4.Checking soil pH, organic carbon, redox potential.
- pH of the soil affects minerals solubility.
- Before get to stocking, it is better to conditions the soil.
- Leaching is a important process in soil preparation.
- Acidic soils have some of the common ions (Al, Fe) .
- Sodium ions have high exchangeble capacity than other ions.
- It is important to replace excess sodium ions which is present in the pond soil.
- Decomposition of organic matter pays way for the soil fertility and releasing phosphorus and potassium.
- Important compounds such as sulphur, phosphorus, nitrogen, carbon presents in different forms in soil.
- Soil organic matter gives plasticity to soil which prevents turbidity and seepage of water.
- Soil organic matter gives cohesion and increasing water holding capacity.
- Soil Redox potential indicates the soil organic matter of your pond.
Thank you.
