Increase feed digestibility and absorption in vannamei.....
Today we will see about how to increase feed digestibility and feed intake in vannamei....
Vannamei has a good market price in international market... Due to its faster growth and reduced cannibalistic nature, it is mostly cultured species in the world.
Increase the feed digestibility....
Different problems related to the gut has arises from 30 DOC onwards on vannamei farming...
* Presence of harmful pathogens on the stomach.
* Imbalance in the gut microbiota.
* Poor quality feed.
* Poor water quality management and treatment.
* Irregular feeding.
* Absence of primary productivity.
* Poor conditions of muddy bottom.
* Improper storage of feed will get rancidity, if you gave that feeds to the shrimp, then also affect gut health.
These are the some of the reasons which leads to the occurance of gut problems. Lack in the secretion of stomach enzymes also will leads to the improper digestion.
Energy to the shrimp....
1.Digestion of food particles.
2. Absorption of valuable nutrients from the food.
These above two are very important. If any lacking in the above two then leads to problems in gut of shrimp.
Solutions..
* Now many people found white gut and white fecal in the early stages of the culture period. We have to prevent or at least postpone that happenings.
1. Select the good seed for stocking. Clearly get the details of hatchery, and all must do the stress test before stocking into the pond.
2. Culture at nursery in farm. My suggestion is try to increase the plankton productivity in the nursery pond. It may helps to ensure the good growth of shrimps at nursery.
3. Don't allow the growth of harmful pathogens in surrounding water. So, you have properly use the probiotics.
4. Avoid the seepage ponds.
5. Boost the primary productivity at regular intervals.
6. Use gut probiotics at least for one meal in the earlier stages of culture period.
7. Give feed supplements and use antioxidants like vit C at regulat intervals in the feed.
8. Try to use some of the chemo attractants in the feed. It will stimulates the shrimp to fastly take the feed. Many chemo attractants like fish solubles, inosine etc... Natural attractants like fish meat or clam meats etc...
9. Use some of zeolite compounds with less than 1% inclusion in the animal diet.. It will provides some trace minerals to gut and helps in digestion. It also helps to remove the toxic metabolites present on the stomach of the shrimp.
10. Try to give immunostimulants in the earlier stages of the culture. It will boost the immunity and helps for faster growth of shrimp.
11. Some of the digestive enzymes like proteolytic and amylolytic enzymes can be added for the better digestion and absorption at the gut.
12. Maintain balanced gut microbiota by giving gut probiotics, it helps for better digestion and absorption. It also prevents the white gut and white fecal.
What amount of food we gave to the shrimp is not a matter.. How it creates an impact is the matter. More digestion and absorption also leads to create an impact on gut health. So the feeding and feeding frequency is very important.
Except in the earlier stage, other than Don't go for more frequency of feed to the shrimp in the summer times.
