Different roles of microorganisms in the shrimp pond system.

Hello everyone:
Today we will see about how microorganisms plays an important role in managing the pond water quality.

"Without microbes culture is nothing"

Different species of bacteria involves in degradation of organic matter, formation of flocs and maintaining the water quality.

The beneficial bacteria not only used to control vibrio but also doing important functions in degrading pond wastes, production of extracellular enzymes, antioxidants etc...

In this regards, we will see about role of autotrophic bacteria in shrimp pond.

Autotrophic bacteria:
Autotrophic bacteria involves in photosynthesis and chemosynthesis.
They are using inorganic compounds as their energy source.

  Autotrophic bacteria..
1. Photoautotrophic bacteria.
2. Chemoautotrophic bacteria.

Photoautotrophic bacteria:
These bacteria are involves in photosynthesis in the presence or absence of oxygen.

# The bacteria which involves in photosynthesis in the presence of oxygen then it is called aerobic photosynthetic bacteria.
Ex: Cyanobacteria which involves in photosynthesis with the help of oxygen.

#The bacteria which do not utilize oxygen as a acceptor then it is called anaerobic photosynthetic bacteria.
They are mostly using sulfides and hydrogen as a acceptor.

Green sulphur bacteria, purple sulphur bacteria, purple non sulphur bacteria.

1. These green sulphur bacteria utilizes sulfide, hydrogen, ferrous iron as the source for breakdown.
They are not able to produce energy when there is no sulfide in the pond environment
Another important fact is these bacteria can't able to grow heterotrophically.

2. Purple sulphur bacteria also uses sulfides and hydrogen as the energy sources in the anaerobic conditions.

This purple sulphur bacteria can able to grow heterotrophically.

They have the capability of doing more photosynthetic activity in the pond.

3. Purple non sulphur bacteria utilises organic compounds.

These purple non sulfur bacteria is sensitive to hydrogen sulphides.

They oxidize sulfur usually at lower level.
But they can photoassimilate wide range of organic compounds presents in the pond system.

In these regards, we can conclude that they need sunlight and chemical compounds for the effective functions in the pond environment except some species.

In our market, corporates sells different probiotics like soil probiotics, water probiotics and in the name of "PS". These different combination will plays an important role in the shrimp pond.

Some of the myth also there.....

If there is a lack of energy sources for any bacteria, then their actions will be very minimal and not effective in the pond environment.

Be Careful at using of probiotics and probiotics.

Thank you....
