Best Natural feed supplement for Penaeus vannamei.

Hello everyone:
Today we will see about the best natural feed supplement for vannamei. In last blog we saw about sulphate polysaccharides.

Now we will see about the supplement which naturally have antiviral activity.

Spirulina:
We all know about spirulina. It is a bluegreen algae. It is highly nutritious algae. It contains high level of protein ( 60-70 % ) then essential amino acids, minerals, polyunsaturated fatty acids and antioxidative pigments etc..

 # Due to the absence of cellulose cell wall, it can be easily digested and assimilated by organism.

Presence of antimicrobial and antiviral activity:
Due to presence of sulphate polysaccharides, it has high antiviral activity.
When it is supplemented in feed then these essential substance can be easily available in organic form to the organism.

Detoxification:
It has another important property of removing toxic metals present in the body and surroundings by chelation. It helps the animal for fast growth.

Presence of essential pigments:
Pigments are very important for shrimp growth. It also helps for colouration of animal. Beta carotene in spirulina increases the metabolism and growth of the shrimp. It also helps for thickening of shrimp shell.

Researches shows spirulina is the best feed supplement which increases the body immune system by rapidly increasing macrophages function.

It also have important intracellular antioxidant which is perfectly involves and removes the free radicals in the shrimp body. It is also prefer to give at the time of stress.

Chelated form of minerals:
We already saw about importance of chelated minerals in feed supplement. They can be easily and directly assimilated by the shrimp body.
If you are fed your shrimp with spirulina then it will give chelated forms of minerals in organic form.

# Spirulina has more unique features where no other algae don't have.

The growth, survival, immune system, antimicrobial mechanism of an organism are increasing when you are fed with spirulina as a supplement.

We can also set a small culture unit of spirulina in our farm. It is a very good natural food.

How sulfate polysaccharides prevents the replication of virus.

Hello everyone:
Today we will see about some of the interesting facts about viral infection and action of sulfate polysaccharides.

Sulfate polysaccharides:
Mostly it is derived from marine algae, seaweeds etc. These marine derived polysaccharides have the ability to inhibit the replication of virus inside the host cells.

First of all.. We want to know about the life cycle of virus.

How virus attacks the host cell?

                Attachment to the host cell

          Penetration into the host cell

      Releasing virions ( uncoating)

   Biosynthesis ( replication)

These are the various stages of virus infection in host. Sulfate polysaccharides have the ability to inhibits virus multiplication in different life stages.

During attachment:
The enveloped virus have positive charges around the cell. The host cells are negatively charged. So these interactions will make  easier attachment for virus. When, sulfate polysaccharides present in the host cell then it increases the density of negative charge on cell. If virus will attached with host cell then the sulfate polysaccharides penetrates and disrupt the viral structure and prevents attachment.

During penetration:
After attachment to the host cell, virus gets penetrates into the host cell       ( interaction between positive and negatively charged cells) .The sulfated polysaccharides blocks the viral penetration into the host cell. They also prevents its attachment on host cell surface.

Uncoating:
After viral penetration, it enters into intracellular fluid ( cytoplasm) of the cell. It will get attached by the host protein and it will produce specific signals around the host endosome. After that it releases the virions by removing the cell coating.
In presence of sulfate polysaccharides, it prevents release of virions by interfere with the virus cell. It inhibits the viral replication.

Inhibits viral replication:
Finally the sulfate polysaccharides interacts with protein molecules and transcripting enzymes of virus and prevents it's action.

These are the important functions of sulfate polysaccharides on the replication of virus into host cell.

Next topic is about important natural feed supplement in shrimp farming which contains sulfate polysaccharides

Marine Red yeast in aquaculture.

Hello everyone:
Today we will see about some of the interesting facts of marine red yeast and it's uses in aquaculture.

Yeast for efficient farming.
There are various probiotics are used in shrimp farming. But the place for the role of yeast in unavoidable. Recent researchers identified the excellent performance of marine red yeast strain on aquaculture.

Efficient removal of ammonia:
It is identified from specific strain on marine red yeast (Rhodosporidium sphaerospora ),they are very effective on removing of ammonical nitrogen from the water. It is noted that it reduces huge amount of ammonical nitrogen within few hours.
Another advantage is  they are utilising the ammonia nitrogen as a food source and they didn't form any nitrite in the water during this assimilation process.

Inhibits the growth of vibrio:
This yeast strain shows high inhibitory effect on vibrio. It reduces vibrio population in water. It plays an special antimicrobial mechanism on vibrio.

Formation of floculant:
These strain degrades plant and other organic residues and converting them into a yeast population. They are forming floculants in water. It has huge nutritional values.

Essential nutrients :
Essential fatty acids plays an major role in the growth of an organism. It reduces the energy expenditure and increase the growth of an organism. These yeast strains have more unsaturated essential fatty acids. It provides essential amino acids which is required for the daily activity of the shrimp.
It doesn't cause any negative effect on the organism.

It also noted that there is an increase in survival of an shrimp when this strain are used in the water.

We have to activate the strain by providing essential carbon sources on the water. It has huge benefits on the shrimp farming.

It increase survival.
It forms flocs.
It inhibits vibrio growth.
It increase feed intake.
It reduces pond ammonical nitrogen.
Best probiotics.
