Hello everyone: Most of us confused between pH and alkalinity in the pond ecosystem. If there is low concentration of pH and alkalinity means we can increase but if there is high pH and alkalinity means it is some difficult to reduce . pH and Alkalinity are related but different. pH and Alkalinity: If you have shrimp pond then you definitely know the variance of pH in the water. You want to know means , you can check 4 to 5 times in a day. you must saw the pH fluctuations. Hello everyone: Last blog, we saw about the importance of photoautotrophs in shrimp pond. In this blog, we will see about chemoautotrophic bacteria. Hello everyone: Today we will see about the different water colours behind the pond production. We already see in detail about temperature in shrimp pond. Now various techniques developed for doing shrimp farming. Intensive and super intensive farming system does not depends on primary production. But.. in earthern pond, we partly depends on the primary productivity . In final production, we calculated FCR in the pond. We are not culturing the shrimp in their natural environment. We are culturing in high stocking densities compares to its natural environment.... So the needs for essential nutrients also high... How zeolite works on ammonia absorption in shrimp pond?

Hello everyone: Everyone knows, In shrimp ponds, if ammonia increases then add zeolite to reduce ammonia. Everyone tells zeolite removes ammonia. But we must know the reaction for better clarification. Zeolite : We can tell it is the type of mineral which contains sodium, aluminium, silicate. It has special function called adsorption (உறிஞ்சுதல்). Zeolite have tetrahedral shape, it has a entry channels for adsorption. Zeolite can adsorbs 30% from their body weight. Imagine it can adsorbs how much? It is in powdered form. Zeolite have pores for absorbing gases. It is mainly works on cationic exchange . How it works?
